Elect Joan Pedrotti to Windcrest City Council Place 2.

·       I support our Windcrest Volunteer Fire Department 100% and I will do anything in my power to make sure they are allowed to continue their excellent mission.

·       I support a realistic and viable plan to repair and maintain our roads and alleyways.  The voters deserve a clear and concise 20 – 30-year plan concerning the infrastructure of our city.   I will actively support and pursue the preparation of such a plan.

·       I believe that the people elected to represent the citizens of Windcrest should present themselves in a professional, civil and respectful manner.  

Violation of Ordinance concerning Political Signs

  Below is the Ordinance concerning Political Signs.  The Ordinance clearly states :  "within the city and may not be erected, used or installed more than 20 days preceding the commencement of early voting for the election or 20 days "  So why are those Black Signs already out?  Because two sitting council persons and the other voted off council last year continue to "Strut their Stuff," "Thumb their Noses," and "Do what they Darn Well Please."  The Mayor supports their Antics so they are a protected class. 
 
Sec. 109-19. - Political signs and temporary signs for church and nonprofit organization events.

(a)

Temporary signs for church and nonprofit organization events. Permits for temporary signs not exceeding 32 square feet which comply with the requirements of this chapter shall be issued without charge for church and nonprofit organization events.

(b)

Political signs defined. Political signs are signs which advocate or support one or more candidates for elective office, or causes, positions, beliefs or views.

(c)

Mobile signs for political campaigns are prohibited. Mobile, portable or vehicular political signs, except bumper stickers, are prohibited. Political signs that are transported from one location to another must be covered during transport so the message cannot be seen.

(d)

Placement of political signs and church and nonprofit organization signs on public property.

(1)

Political signs and temporary church and nonprofit organization event signs may not be placed on public property owned or controlled by the city, except in the following locations:

a.

Median of Windway.

b.

Medians of Eaglecrest.

c.

Median of Windrock.

d.

Median of Windsor Hill between Fourwinds and Windsor-Cross.

e.

Two small islands in Crestway.

f.

Drainage ditch between Crestwind and Crosswind.

g.

With the express consent of the adjacent private real property owner, the front yard extension over the public right-of-way between the front property line of private real property and the curb of the street in front of such private real property.

h.

With the express consent of the adjacent private real property owner, the side yard extension over the public right-of-way between the side property line of corner private real property and the curb of the street on the side of such private real property.

i.

Takas Park on the grassy area a distance of ten feet from the curb south of the community center and the two curbed planting islands east of the community center.

(2)

Such signs must relate to scheduled elections or an event held by a church or nonprofit organization located within the city and may not be erected, used or installed more than 20 days preceding the commencement of early voting for the election or 20 days preceding the church or nonprofit organization event to which the sign pertains and shall be removed no later than 48 hours after the conclusion of the election or the event to which the sign pertains. Such signs may not exceed four square feet in area. Such signs may not be illuminated or have any moving elements, or extend over sidewalks or driveways.

(e)

Consent of private property owner required for placement of political signs and church and nonprofit organization signs. Political signs and church or nonprofit organization signs may not be located on private real property without the consent of the occupant. Such signs must be freestanding. Such signs on private real property may not be larger than 36 square feet, no higher than eight feet, have no moving elements or be illuminated.

Salute for the Pledge?

 Since Jim Shelton and Gerd  "Jake" blasted a fellow council member for not reciting the Pledge of Allegiance during council meetings, these two have taken to Saluting while reciting the Pledge!

  Law Now Allows Retirees and Vets to Salute Flag

Traditionally, members of the nation's veterans service organizations have rendered the hand-salute during the national anthem and at events involving the national flag only while wearing their organization’s official head-gear. 

The National Defense Authorization Act of 2008 contained an amendment to allow un-uniformed service members, military retirees, and veterans to render a hand salute during the hoisting, lowering, or passing of the U.S. flag.

A later amendment further authorized hand-salutes during the national anthem by veterans and out-of-uniform military personnel. This was included in the Defense Authorization Act of 2009, which President Bush signed on Oct. 14, 2008.

  The Pledge of Allegiance was left out of the above law.
 

The United States Flag Code states:

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”, should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute. Members of the Armed Forces not in uniform and veterans may render the military salute in the manner provided for persons in uniform.

Note the last two sentences, i.e.  Remain Silent and Salute..  

Seems Jim Shelton and Gerd Jacobi have established their own Code, they Salute without cover AND Recite the Pledge.  

  These two are both retired military and should follow the US Flag Code!

Time to Vote Jim Shelton and Gerd Jacobi out of office.  Vote Frank Archuleta, Place 1,

Joan Pedrotti, Place 2 and Pam Dodson, Place 3.  It's time to get Windcrest back on the right path, of following the laws of the land.  

 

Open Meeting Violation!

City Council Members are prohibited from meeting with a Quorum of Council Members.  If they meet that's a violation of the Open Meetings Act.  The attached video shows three council members, Jim Shelton, James McFall and Gerd Jocobi along with the Mayor walking to and entering the old WEDC trailer behind city hall shortly before a scheduled meeting. James McFall was voted off council Place 4 shortly after this video and now has returned as a candidate for Place 2.

  Windcrest Citizens voted James McFall off council last November, now it's time for Windcrest Citizens to vote Jim Shelton and Gerd "Jake" Jacobi off City Council as well.  Citizens should not vote James McFall back onto Council.  These guys have lost their Moral Compass as they have no qualms about violating the Open Meetings Act.

  There are three candidates running for Council this November.  Pamela Dodson is running for Re-Election to Place 3, newcomer Joan Pedrotti is running for Place 2 and Frank Archuleta is runing for Place 1.
  Pamela Dodson has demonstrated on many occasions during her tenure on City Council that her Moral Compass is in Tact.

Restore Windcrest Integrity!

 Vote to Elect Frank Archuleta, Joan Pedrotti to Windcrest City Council and Re-Elect Pam Dodson to City Council to bring Integrity back to City Council.  It's time to change the leadership at Windcrest City Hall!.
Windcrest residents voted out half of the City Council last election, now it's time for the other two to move on.  Jim Shelton and Jake Jacobi should be replaced, so get out and Vote.  These two sitting Council Persons always vote as if on remote control.  They often have meetings in the trailer before council sessions to align their votes with the Mayor's wishes.
  When the Mayor was accused of  "Cursing Out"  the Fire Chief, these two voted 'Not Guilty'.  These two approved of Cursing out employees and proudly voted Not Guilty.
  Next Jim Shelton and Jake Jacobi blasted a council person for not saying the Pledge like they do. Forget one's Rights,  they just Trampled over those rights because there is no one to stop them. Your Vote will stop them, so get out and Vote.
    Those that served our nation, served to protect the 1st amendment rights, now these two want to ignore those rights because they think they are better than everyone else.  
  Vote Frank Archuleta for Place 1, Joan Pedrotti for Place 2 and Re-Elect Pam Dodson for Place 3 and get Windcrest back to normal.  It's time for to a Change in Leadership!  Vote to restore Integrity back in Windcrest City Council!

So Move,Mmmmmmm!

  You have to watch the Windcrest Economic Development Corporation Board Meeting from July 7th.  The Master of Ceremonies was none other than the Attorney. Seems the Board President was in attendance elsewhere.  The acting Board President was out of her depth.  Had no clue what to do or how to.  Now mine you, she has been on the board for over 1 1/2 years, well to be fair, the chair was occupied.  The entire meeting was orchestrated by the attorney with an occasional "So Move" muttered for the lack of knowing what the heck he just said..
  Seems the Hotel lawyers have added more to their original request.  Their original request was present a few meetings back and hence approved by the City Council.  Now it seems their lawyers want a small change.  The WEDC got into serious trouble a few years ago from small changes made after the original agreement was accepted.  The attorney stated, "These changes will better protect the WEDC and the City."  Are You So MMMMMoved?

Do Not Vote for Poster Boy

 James McFall is running for re-election on the Windcrest City Council.  This week a sharp senior citizen wrote a Letter to the Editor suggesting people Vote for Honesty in Windcrest.  In her article she says the current city council and mayor have difficulty following the City Charter.  She indicated that Four members (McFall included) do not contribute opinions or new ideas to the agenda or during meetings.  She says Life-Sized Posters would be just as effective.

 I have to agree.  James McFall and John Gretz, are both running for re-election.  They contribute very little if anything to public council meetings.  However, without discussion they always vote affirmative to any motion made by the "Team."  Most anything the lone woman, Pam Dodson. suggests gets shot down immediately, tabled or just plan dismissed.  The ladies idea of Life-Sized Poster being just as effective is very accurate.

 This suggests they have other meetings before the public meeting to form their game plan.  The mayor often refers to "Team Windcrest," as if he is the quarterback calling the plays.  This writer believes he does ALL the play calling.  And if you don't fall inline, well, you only need to listen to him cuss out the ex Fire Chief.
