Follow Up Springbrook Senior Living Campus

  The Incentive package the WEDC sent to City Council for approval was NOT addressed during open  session.  Something is wrong with the incentive package!  Springbrook must be asking for Property Tax Relief or some such nonsense. 
  Windcrest cizens may find the SpringBrook Senior Campus a welcome site, but at what cost.  The  rich investors from Chicago probably hope Windcrest  Citizens will kiss their feet for bring their project to Windcrest. 

Assuming the SpringBrook Senior Center is a project as advertised then the investors stand to reap a substantial return on their investment simply from having the facility fully occupied.  The idea of this project being smack dab in the center Windcrest, a community with an aging population; a population that would really like to remain in Windcrest should be incentive enough to build SpringBrook Senior Center.  The Project does not deserve any Tax relief from the Citizens of Windcrest.

Windcrest Citizens should really read between the lines.  Initially WEDC & council stated this was between $60 and $100 million dollar project.  Then the developer, Walt Busby, briefed City Council that the project would be about $60 million to start, the to about $80 million when all three facilities are built out.  What happened to the other $20 Million Dollars?

  Robert Colunga, Mr Busby's new associate was introduced during this same meeting.  Colunga is the same fella charged with duping another San Antonio home owner association out of Tens of Thousands of dollars for a project paid for but never built.   The Chicago investors should be concerned more with this fact instead of trying to obtain Property Tax relief.
 
Next council member Jim Shelton write in the March news letter, the Springbrook Senior Center is a $160 Million dollar project.   Sounds like he's trying to sell citizens on an incentive package based on $160 million.    Remember, Shelton is on the city's committee meeting with developer and the investors from Chicago.  Where did $160 Million come from?  Did adding Robert Colunga cause the increase?   

Remember, SpringBrook Senior Center will not produce any Sales Tax.  A $60 million dollar project would certainly add some property tax revenue to Windcrest. 

Jim Shelton and Robert Colunga are trying to convince Windcrest this is a good project for Windcrest.  The Project WITHOUT ANY TAX RELIEF would be good for both the investors and Windcrest.

SpringBrook Senior Living Campus

 Hush Hush!  The WEDC has an incentive package for the Spring Brook Senior Living Campus, but they are not revealing the details!  Why?  Is WEDC afraid the Citizens of Windcrest will recognize they are being duped?  Are kickbacks involved?  If the deal were legit WEDC should release the Incentive Package details to Citizens now. Hear the citizens input on the incentive, get their input.
